Ambleside is a busy Lakeland village, ideally situated as a base for exploring the rest of the Lakes. It has good transport links and is a top tourist village with lots going on for both tourists and locals, including a two screen cinema, lots of restaurants catering for all tastes and pockets, many popular pubs. Ambleside has its own University Campus, which not only bring lots of young people into the village, but also host many cultural events. Walking, climbing, sailing, water-skiing and fishing are all available locally.
