Goody Bridge Self Catering Cottages
In the idyllic village of Grasmere, we have three characterful, stone built Lakeland cottages available for holiday let.
Goody Bridge Cottage (sleeps two), Goody Bridge Barn (sleeps four) and Goody Bridge Farm House (sleeps 8) have been refurbished with your comfort in mind, with thoughtful homely touches to make your stay as relaxing as possible.
The Barn and the Cottage both have luxurious double beds, Goody Bridge Farm House will comfortably sleep eight, with three luxurious double beds and one twin bedroom. All have fully furnished kitchens and comfortable living spaces with fire places. We have free car parking and Wifi available.
We will accept a maximum of 2 well behaved dogs per property at an additional charge, however, we ask that the access is limited to downstairs only in Goody Bridge Farm.
The cottages are the perfect holiday spot all year round, cosy in the winter and perfect for enjoying the peaceful surroundings in the summer weather. Goody Bridge nestles beneath the famous Fairfield Horseshoe at the foot of Easedale Valley and has many popular walks right on its doorstep, including Hellvellyn, Silver How and Helm Crag. We are also only a short walk from Rydal Water and the old slate mining caves and the Old Coffin Trail. From Goody Bridge, it is only a short walk into the village of Grasmere.
Goody Bridge Farm - sleeps 8
The 16th century farmhouse sleeps 8. The property has a master superking en suite bedroom, en suite double bedroom, another double bedroom with washbasin and a twin bedroom with washbasin. There is also a large sitting room on the upper floor with smart TV and surround sound as well as the family bathroom.
On the ground floor there is a large dining kitchen with gas hob, electric oven and combi microwave, cosy sitting room with open fire. It is comfortably furnished retaining lots of characterful features. You will have access to a shared utility room, furnished with separate washing machine and tumble dryer, located adjacent to the Farm House.
We currently allow a maximum of 2 dogs per property at an additional cost per dog.
Goody Bridge BARN - Sleeps 4
This stone built traditional barn was originally converted from a former milk barn and still retains many character features typical of a Cumbrian farm building.
It has one ground floor superking bedroom ensuite with shower (with prior arrangement twin configuration possible). The living areas and master bedroom are on the first floor. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed with bath and overhead shower ensuite. There is an open plan living/dining kitchen area (smart TV, log burner and Wi-Fi broadband access). And space in the hall for storing outdoor gear.
The barn offers comfortable, stylish and cosy accommodation in any season of the year. Gas central heating. There is room to sit outside on the small enclosed patio (garden table and chairs provided) as well as shared gardens opposite the front entrance.
Goody Bridge Cottage - -sleeps 2
Picturesque stone-built Goody Bridge Cottage is a delightful detached Lakeland hideaway – perfect for a couple at any time of the year, which dates from the 18th Century. It is documented that Wordsworth bought his milk there.
The cottage has been refurbished but retains the character feel of a traditional Lakeland cottage and the accommodation is all on one level. The entrance door opens directly into the kitchen which leads through into the spacious central sitting room with beamed ceiling (smart TV, gas fire and Wi-Fi). Double bedroom with king-sized bed. Showeroom, basin and WC.
